A description of Yoongi's relationships:

Jungkook

Out of all the boys, Yoongi has the deepest connection with Jungkook. Seokjin thinks Yoongi and Jungkook share the same kind of pain, which is why he thinks they’re the ones to save each other.

Jungkook seems to always be looking to someone to guide him because he himself feels empty and lost. Yoongi is someone who doesn’t want to dream in fear of losing that dream. In much the same way, Yoongi thinks it wouldn’t do Jungkook good to have him by his side as he only brings destruction to the people who get close to him.

Aside from their pain, they are connected by a song. An unfinished song that Yoongi used to play when they were are at school. It’s the same tune that Jungkook whistles in the music shop and the same song that the girl (Yoongi’s coworker) played in the hospital. During her visit, Jungkook was writing lyrics for a song, presumably this one. The song is eventually completed by Yoongi after a dream-like experience at the forest and he titled it as “Hope”.

Jimin

Yoongi and Jimin weren’t particularly close. However, they are the ones paired during Wings. Yoongi could represent the “wrong” guide to Jimin’s problems. We have clues pointing out that Yoongi might enable Jimin’s “lie”. As depicted in Blood, Sweat and Tears MV, Yoongi is the one covering Jimin’s eyes, possibly due to a misguided attempt to protect him from the truth.

We still don’t know what happened when Jimin asked Yoongi to come with him to the Flower Arboretrum. But, my best guess is that it didn’t completely work as Jimin still had unresolved remnants from that trauma.

Hoseok

Surprisingly, even if they did not have much interaction in the videos. Hoseok is quite involved with helping Yoongi out in The Notes 1. Yoongi describes Hoseok as someone who would always pave the way from him whenever he feels lost. That it would almost always be Hoseok who would help him when he’s troubled.

Hoseok, at some point, has enough and decides to leave town. And while away, as he was coming to terms with his own problems, he is reminded of Yoongi and how he had left his friend in his time of need.

Yoongi is the first person Hoseok contacts upon return (aside from the group chat). And it was to ask his friend if he was okay. Yoongi doesn’t reply anything but sends a file instead with a song entitled “Hope”.

Seokjin

Not much is said about the relationship between Seokjin and Yoongi. Although, after finding out that Yoongi was originally supposed to be the one to cover Seokjin’s eyes in BST, I wonder what changes, if there were any, were made to the storylines. Were Yoongi and Seokjin supposed to have more interactions?

Seokjin himself could not understand the source of Yoongi’s misery. At least not as deep as Jungkook does. And a lot of their distance, I could attribute towards Seokjin’s guilt towards being indirectly responsible for Yoongi’s expulsion. Yoongi didn’t seem to have much to say after finding out that Seokjin was the snitch. But, maybe that is something that would be explored in the future. The YoonJin VTR in Love Yourself tour does make me curious. Perhaps, a storyline is underway with Seokjin making amends for mistakes he’s made even before April 11 Year 22.

Seokjin considers Yoongi's case an anomaly in his mission. He is always an unknown that often changes location and time.

Taehyung

I honestly expected at least Yoongi’s and Taehyung’s VTRs to match up to their Love Yourself lineup. If Yoongi and Teahyung have the same theme for their solos and trivia, I thought it would make sense that they are the next pairing.

Still, Taehyung is one of the boys who are exhibiting an ability. In his case, he sees the future in his dreams. There was an incident in the Webtoon Save Me where Taehyung was able to correctly point out the motel Yoongi is staying in even though he's changed location before.

I have a different post on the possibilities of Taehyung’s storyline, but alas, my wish for a TaeGi subunit remains to be unanswered. :(

Namjoon

Another character that Yoongi doesn’t seem to have as much connection to that I wish to see more of. Namjoon’s storyline is rife with themes of guilt and abandonment that could complement Yoongi’s stories of detachment.

His Mother

Yoongi's mother died a few years before the story began. She was a musician like Yoongi and has spoken at least once that she regrets having him. She died in a fire and as their house was burning, Yoongi was asked if there was anyone else in the house and he answered "No".

She doesn't seem to be mentioned a lot in the Min household after that, or maybe because Yoongi doesn't speak with his father much.

His Father

Yoongi has a very strained relationship with his father. He seems authoritative, having been formerly in the military. He also doesn't seem to support his son's wish to become a musician.

His Anima

Or his coworker. She is so far unnamed in the stories but Yoongi describes her as talented, straightforward and confident. I think she represents more of what Yoongi wants to be like rather than as a love interest. At least, their personal relationship wasn't something that was elaborated in any iteration of the Bangtan fictional universe. However, she seems important enough for Yoongi to care to push her away from himself in his fears of hurting people he cares about.
